Objectives
- To establish an integrated multi-center network of population-based birth cohorts in areas that represent cultural and contextual variations in Iran.
- To develop standardized protocols for data collection, maintenance, and appropriate analysis for Iranian population with the prospect of future international collaborations.
- To recruit the participants, collect the data, manage, clean, and harmonize collected data and maintain collected bio-samples.
- To conduct a pilot study to evaluate feasibility, required time and resources, and the potential for unexpected practical issues, and improve project protocol accordingly.
- To continue stuff training and quality control throughout the project.
- To educate a new generation of high-caliber MSc and PhD students across different disciplines covered by the project.
- To establish an interdisciplinary network of in-house and international scientists covering different aspects of this multidisciplinary project to identify knowledge gaps and research priorities, provide advice on scientific aspects of the project, and evaluate the progress of the project.
- To disseminate the results in scientific community and translate and communicate the findings with general public as well as interested stakeholders including policymakers.
